The duo previously reached No. 1 with their collaborative single “The Scotts” in 2020.
Kid Cudi ruled out a collaboration album with Travis Scott on Wednesday (Dec. 21).
On Twitter, a fan asked directly to the rapper, “Is The Scotts album still in the works?” Cudi announced on Twitter that he was “working on something special” for his fans and promised, “more news next year!”
“Naw, I’m not doin’ that,” Cudi said of The Scotts album, adding, “The moment has passed.”
The super-duo first released their single “The Scotts” in the spring of 2020. Cudi earned his first Hot 100 No. 1 with the song, which debuted at the top of the chart upon its release, while Scott made his third after “Sicko Mode” also “Highest in the Room.”
More than a year later, Cudi confirm via Twitter that he and Scott were planning to record an album under their new moniker, claiming it would happen eventually but not knowing when.
Of course, the “Day N Nite” rapper has since released his long-awaited album Intergalactic, embark on his career-best To the Moon Tour across North America, also hinted that he’s nearing the end of his music career — but not before recording one final album for his fans.
Meanwhile, Scott has remained embroiled in the legal fallout from the deadly crowd crush at his 2021 Astroworld Festival, which killed ten people and injured hundreds more. He also directed Future’s “712PM” music video and recently released a new Nike collaboration.
